Our mission—the very reason we exist–is to partner with people to discover in Christ we have Hope! More than words we say, this is who we are, and we’re excited to partner with you.
WHO WE ARE
We are a non-denominational church serving the Ocala region of Central Florida. We believe every person was created by God with great purpose for their life – including you! We exist to partner with people, just like you, to discover that in Christ we have Hope.
OUR PRAYER FOR YOU
“I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in His holy people.”
“I ask the God of our Master, Jesus Christ, the God of glory—to make you intelligent and discerning in knowing Him personally, your eyes focused and clear, so that you can see exactly what it is He is calling you to do, grasp the immensity of this glorious way of life He has for His followers.”
EPHESIANS 1:17-19, MSG
On Sunday, November 30, 2008, about 300 people gathered at Camper’s Village, launching what we know today as Church of Hope. But why start a new church in Ocala? Aren’t there enough churches? Great question!
Church of Hope wasn’t birthed to be just another church. Church of Hope is a movement of Christ followers partnering with people to discover in Christ we have Hope! We’re not about a building. We’re not about programs. We’re not about a pastor or a certain music style. We’re just all about Jesus. Period.
From December 2008 to February 2010, we were a set-up and tear-down church at West Port High School; and in October 2009, we launched our second Sunday worship gathering. We moved from weekly setting up and tearing down in February 2010 when we moved to the Maricamp Square Plaza. We moved in with a five-year lease and bought our current location for cash (debt free!) in November 2014.
In November 2020, we celebrated 12 years as a church… a movement of people committed to partnering with people to discover in Christ we have Hope! We are thankful for all God has done and anticipate all that He will continue to do… the best is yet to come!
Meet Pastor Mark
Pastor Mark Cummins has been leading Church of Hope since its beginning in November 2008. If you were to ask Mark what his passion in life is, he would say, “To partner with people to discover in Christ we have Hope!” The mission of Church of Hope is more than mere words to Mark—it is his very life.
Mark and Linda have been married for 30 years and have two daughters, Emily and Katie. Team Cummins can often be found training for marathons and triathlons, soaking up the sunshine at the beach, and loving on their Church of Hope family.
